UK financial firm Markit gets ready for US debut

UK-based Markit, which is one of Britain’s fastest growing financial services firms, is stepping up efforts to list in the US. Earlier this month, the company filed for a prospectus with the US securities and exchange commission. Markit is planning to raise USD 750 million from its initial public offering (IPO) in the US, the world’s biggest economy. According to a report in financial times, the UK company has chosen the tech-heavy Nasdaq exchange for the listing of its shares in the US. Nasdaq has been a popular choice for European companies looking to list in the US and it has also been the most sought after exchange for float of tech IPOs, the report said.
